About
Berdiguly Amansakhatov is a celebrated Turkmen artist whose work spans stage design, painting, and graphic arts. Born in the Mary region of Turkmenistan in 1950, he studied at leading art institutions in Ashgabat and Moscow, where he developed a distinctive creative voice rooted in symbolism, culture, and emotion.
His theatrical scenography has earned major recognition, including the USSR State Prize, the Lenin Komsomol Prize, and the TÜRKSOY Prize. Alongside his theatre work, his oil paintings and graphic series reflect a deeply personal artistic philosophy — one he describes as “Analytical Modernism.”
Across decades of creative work, Amansakhatov continues to explore themes of heritage, myth, and the human spirit. His art has been presented in galleries and theaters across Turkmenistan, Russia, Europe, and beyond — inviting audiences to see the world through a uniquely Turkmen perspective.
